A Partnership to be proud of

This year, SNAP! has again teamed up with an incredible charity - the St. Vincent Family Centers (SVFC) of Columbus. SVFC provides a continuum of high quality, specialized services to children with behavioral health needs to help them realize their full potential. By helping children and families, they are strengthening our community one family at a time.

The main objective in partnering with St. Vincent Family Centers (SVFC) is to provide the children with exposure to the performing arts. Since many of the children SVFC works with come from below the poverty line, there is a small chance they have ever had any exposure to live music, theater, or similar arts programs. For this reason, SNAP! has put on a number of on-campus shows, performing to over 50 of the resident children each time.

SNAP! members also provide the center itself with support on a variety of tasks throughout the year. This means that SVFC can draw on SNAP! members to supplement their volunteers when they have special needs or events.  For example, SNAP! has continued its support by contributing coats to St. Vincent annual coat drive. Each December, SNAP! members also volunteer their time to pass out presents to certain SVFC-sponsored families.

Beyond the time and resources SNAP!'s members gives, the group also agrees to donate a portion of every ticket sold to the Spring Show directly to SVFC.  This is to ultimately help meet the needs of children with severe emotional problems. 

In June 2006, SNAP! was able to present Bridget Holian (Special Event Coordinator of SVFC) with a donation check for $1,123 - all from SNAP!'s Spring Show ticket sales. This past year, SNAP! was able to donate another $1,600 from the proceeds of the ticket sales.

That’s not all! The energy and talent of the group has not gone unnoticed in the past few years among other non-profit organizations.  We share great pride in our past partnerships with the A Special Wish Foundation.  A few highlights include raising over $500 in our silent auction, as well as raising over $500 during tickets sales for the Magical Night of Giving event at Polaris.
