Singers - Perform With Us!

Frequently Asked Questions

Read the questions and answers below to help prepare for a voice audition.

What type of song should I sing?
You should select a song that showcases your talent best. It should be challenging, but easy for you to perform. If you have a classically trained voice then your song should be in that format, if you have a pop voice then select a pop song, etc, etc.

Any advice on what not to do?
Yes, don't sing a song you just learned, you should pick a song you could sing in your sleep.

Any songs I shouldn't select?
Yes, please don't sing a song that has a lot of talking in it, or where the actual singing is limited. For example: "Popular" from Wicked.

Do I need a performance resume?
A performance resume is highly recommended but not required.

How long will the audition process take?
It should take less than one hour.

What else can I do to prepare?
Practice. Practice. Practice. Especially your stage performance. There is nothing as awful as watching someone sing with a beautiful voice, and absolutely nothing happening on their face.
